Situated to the north of Wilder Road right on the sea front and overlooked by Capstone hill the Landmark lives up to its name, with its twin brick cones built from 30,000 Belgian white bricks. It has drawn heavy criticism from locals for its avant guard architectural style. Many would have preferred something more in keeping with the town's Victorian heritage, but the new building, which replaced the crumbling Victorian Pavilion, has excellent facilities including good disabled access.

The main auditorium seats just under five hundred people, with a seventy square metre stage. The smaller "Pavilion" venue is one hundred and twenty square metres accommodating up to 200 people depending on the layout.

The complex also features the Landmark rendezvous bar, with a full restaurant menu (lunchtimes only). The public toilets are available whenever the venue is open, and it also houses the town's tourist office and a gift shop.

The shows include live music, comedy, magic, dance, theatre, pantomime, and musicals.
